How do I make my own recovery disc on my Windows 7 computer?
Issue:
CTL's computers running Windows 7 have a recovery partition installed to recover the system back to its original factory condition, but many people are wanting to have a disc they can run in case of needing to recover the system.
Resolution:
Windows 7 has the tools to make your own recovery disc.
- Open Backup and Restore options by clicking on the Start button, clicking on the Control Panel, then you will click on System and Maintenance, and then finally click on Backup and Restore.
- On the left side of the Backup and Restore window, click on Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps provided by the system.
- You may be prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, which you will want to provide a password or provide the confirmation.
- Please visit the link below for further information and instructions on how to run your newly created recovery disc when necessary.
- When recovering your system in this method, you will need to reinstall drivers after the Windows 7 installation is finished. You can use the driver disc supplied with your computer (if provided) or visit our FTP site to download drivers.
- If you have any questions, you can contact CTL technical support for assistance.
