If you need to check the version of Windows that is running on your PC, try the following steps:

Check for operating system information in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tapSettings, and then tapChange PC settings.
    (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, clickSettings, and then clickChange PC settings.)

  2. Tap or clickPC and devices, and then tap or clickPC info.

  3. Look underWindowsfor the version and edition ofWindowsthat your PC is running.

  2. Look underWindows editionfor the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.
