Windows 8 Keyboard Shortcuts

    Here are some keyboard shortcuts that will aid in navigating through Windows 8:


    Windows Key = Toggle between Next Window and Legacy Desktop views.

    Ctrl + Shift + Esc = Task Manager.

    Windows + C = Settings, Devices, Start, Share, and Search. This menu will also display by moving the mouse cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen.

    Windows + I = Windows Restart, Shutdown, Sleep, Taskbar Notification Icons, Sound Control, Brightness, Notifications, and Keyboard.

    Windows + X = Menu for common Administrator Tasks.

    Windows + 0 = Opens 10th application in taskbar with Normal Proveliges. You can use the following values for applications on the taskbar:

    1 = 1st Application on taskbar of Classic Desktop view.
    2 = 2nd Application in taskbar of Classic Desktop view.
    etc.
    You can arrange your applications on the taskbar according to your preferences in order to take full advantage of this feature.


    Windows + Ctrl + Shift + 0 = Opens 10th application in taskbar with Elevated Priveliges. You can use the following values for applications on the taskbar:

    1 = 1st Application on taskbar of Classic Desktop view.
    2 = 2nd Application on taskbar of Classic Desktop view.
    etc.


    Windows + D = Displays the Legacy Windows Desktop. If you use this shortcut from the Next Window view, this takes you to the currently active application on the Legacy Desktop.
    If you use this shortcut from the Legacy Desktop, this displays the Desktop.
    Using this shortcut multiple times will toggle between the Legacy Desktop and the Active Application on the Legacy Desktop.


    Windows + B = From the Next Window Desktop, this takes you to the currently active application on the Legacy Desktop.If all applications are in a minimized state on the Legacy Desktop, this command will take you to the Legacy Desktop.
    No effect if used from the Legacy Desktop.


    Windows + M = From the Next Window Desktop, this takes you to the Legacy Desktop and minimizes all applications on the Legacy Desktop.When used from the Legacy Desktop, all applications are minimized.
    If all applications are in a minimized state on the Legacy Desktop, this command will take you to the Legacy Desktop.


    Windows + Q = Displays Apps windows with all apps and search bar.

    Windows + W = Displays Search Settings.

    Windows + E = Windows Explorer displaying Computer Folder. Same as clicking on My Computer.

    Windows + R = Displays the Run Window

    Windows + T = Displays the Window Group Thumbnails on your taskbar. This is the equivalent of hovering the mouse over the Taskbar Icons. Each time you press the Windows + T command, the next application group is displayed

    Windows + U = Displays Ease of Access Center

    Windows + P = Option to extend the Display

    Windows + + = Zoom Windows

    Windows + F = Search Files

    Windows + H = Displays Share options

    Windows + K = Displays Devices to Share with

    Windows + < = Preview Legacy Desktop

    Windows + L = Lock the Computer
